Beginning July 24, 2009, OUTspoken Sessions is a thought-provoking and creative safe space for Queer Youth and Allies to come together and express themselves through poetry, art, song and performance. OUTspoken Sessions is an opportunity for youth to find and build community, get educated about social justice issues, learn about activism opportunities and meet like-minded youth and adults.
Equal Action works hard at finding seasoned youth and adult performers as featured guest performers. Featured guest performers get an extended set time, highlighted in our e-newsletter and Facebook fan page, as well as giving the audience a Q & A about who they are and how their art is part of the fight for social justice.
OUTspoken Sessions is another opportunity for youth performers to learn and grow through poetry, art, song and performance. Featured performers have included Skim, Alex Davis, Yazmin Watkins, Narinda Heng, Diana Bui and the Butchlalis de Panochtitlan!
If you are interested in becoming a featured performer, please contact Dahlia: firstname.lastname@example.org.
